Lighting the Way: The STAR Foundation Gala for Salla Disease
Adam and Christy LeBlanc recently hosted their annual gala in aid of the STAR Foundation
Adam and Christy LeBlanc recently hosted their 3rd annual gala in aid of the STAR Foundation, a beacon of hope and generosity, illuminating the path toward a brighter future for children suffering from Salla disease. Held at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta, Georgia this enchanting evening was not just an event, but a celebration of resilience and community spirit.
As guests arrived, the air was filled with a palpable sense of purpose. A sparkling pink and black “STAR Gala” sign adorned with ballon and star accents, generously donated by Card my Yard, welcomed guests as they entered the Metropolitan Club. The ballroom, exquisitely decorated with STAR motifs in shades of rose gold and soft, ambient lighting, set the stage for an unforgettable night. Guests snapped photographs on the red carpet in front of the custom STAR Foundation backdrop and enjoyed handcrafted passion fruit margaritas during the cocktail hour.
The event commenced with a heart felt speech from the LeBlancs, who highlighted the critical need for research and support for Salla disease, a rare genetic disorder that affects children’s physical and mental development. Aubrey’s 10 year old sister, Payton, even shared a few words with the audience about how special her sister is and how much the STAR Foundation means to her.
The gala featured a silent auction, showcasing an array of over 150 luxurious items and experiences, generously donated by local businesses including trips to exotic locations like Italy and Antigua, autographed sports memorabilia, spa and restaurant excursions, and even a diamond necklace. Every bid placed was a step closer to funding crucial research and providing essential resources for affected families.
Incredible music, a gourmet dinner, and a dance floor that remained lively into the night made the event not just a fundraiser, but a celebration of hope and solidarity. Guests also enjoyed participating in the wine pull led by a local wine expert, with proceeds reaching almost $2,000! Selections from the wine pull included bottles donated by Tulip Winery inIsrael that employs over 200 individuals with intellectual and emotional disabilities. The 2023 STAR Foundation Gala raised $30,119 with over $116,000 raised to date, marking a successful stride in the ongoing journey to conquer Salla disease. This event, beyond doubt, proved that when a community comes together, stars align to light the way towards change and healing for these special children.
